The company’s decentralized financial structure resulted in various divisions independently managing plan-in, plan-out, and actuals using distinct legacy source systems. This created challenges in efficiently organizing and analyzing financial data, complicating the analysis process and impeding decision-making. To tackle this issue, our client initiated a strategic project aimed at centralizing its financial data to streamline reporting and planning processes. The Solution

To overcome the challenges posed by fragmented data, the company, in collaboration with our data engineering team, devised a solution that involved extracting Revenue and Operating Expenses (RevScogs and Opex) data from SAPBW and flat files into their Oracle environment. DataStage served as the middleware solution, facilitating the application of business rules and the transformation of data into a unified format for streamlined analysis.

  • Data Extraction: All revenue and operating expenses data were extracted from SAPBW and flat files.
